Something Fishy - isn't it?

Hello Folks!!!

Last week was simply marvelous and I am excited to narrate it to you. Tuesday, we went out for a long drive, quite far, in the outskirts of the city. It was a much needed break from the busy schedule: vast greenery, far stretching water bodies...What a treat!!! The quiet whispers of the wind, the busy chirping of the birds, the happy grasshoppers on the dewy grass and the little fishes swimming in the lake was such a merry sight.

This was like those Friday evenings when Dad would go fishing with his friends  and sometimes take me as well to enjoy the peace and serenity of nature. I always enjoy fishing -  only the catch and release. But that doesn't stop me from enjoying my favourite delicacies. Something fishy is a temptation I can never say no to. To complement the beautiful picnic, we had our lunch basket ready with some juicy apples,  tuna sandwich, cheesy macaroni, and chilled  coke 😁

Tuna sandwich was one every-day lunch time favourite of mine when I was very young. The heart-melting side of a tuna sandwich is that there are as many variations to it as there are different people who eat it. You can have it juicy and accentuate the tuna's flavour by having more mayonnaise on it. Be careful, overdoing it is not a good idea because it can overwhelm the meaty texture and turn the filling into a greasy mess. You can also have a dry one without much mayo as well. Whichever way you prefer to eat this sandwich, it never makes you tired of it.

When I was in 2rd grade, my friend Doreen, brought some yummy tuna sandwich and fresh fruit juice since we had a movie night at our place. I enjoyed every single bite of the sandwich, after which she told me that she made it right from scratch, all by herself. That was amazingly awesome and from then on, making tuna sandwiches became one of our pass time hobbies. Whether hit or flop, we always had fun polishing the plate.

Everyone has their favourite way of making a sandwich - grilled or toasted?, mayo or avocado?, white or whole wheat? So, peek into my suggestions list -

Suggestions :

1. You can toast your bread for the crunchy and juicy feel of the sandwich.

2. Snack on some fresh chips or grilled cheese or soup depending on the season.

3. Use celery and tomato.

4. If you are health conscious, you can substitute the mayonnaise with some creamy avocado or Greek yogurt that will assure you the same tanginess.

5. As a packed lunch, this sandwich benefits from a few hours in a cling wrap so that the bread can absorb some of the juices.

6. Munch on your lovely sandwich with some juice just like how I enjoy it!😋
